A new and very exciting forum script made it’s debut today. Xenforo is the long awaited baby of Kier Darby and Mike Sullivan, both programmers who worked on vBulletin for many years before Jelsoft sold out to a new company called Internet Brands. The new and improved vBulletin has proved to be anything but, and disgruntled customers (yours truly among them) have been flocking to the new Xenforo site in anticipation of the beta release of the new forum.
Beta version was released today for $100, the special lasts 24 hours before the price increases to $140. Ok, yes, I was one of the flockers and I’m dying to see what this baby can do. So far it looks very promising, and you can see that the programmers are very much in touch with the social type community direction the internet is taking. A 2010 forum designed afresh from scratch – yes it looks very much what I’ve been looking for. You can see it for yourself at http://www.xenforo.com.
